"....when the cars are not on the track..."
This could mean early in the morning, after race day schedule, even a rain delay, or at Topeka one year when the water was bubbling up through the surface...then the reply would also be mine

Lighten up people

If you re-listen the the "what there is to do at the races" question and answer segment again - It was not a true question/answer of John's opinion - it was a huge Ford plug. Didn't you catch after he described all the things you can do at the Ford Booth then our buddy Paul Page closed the segment stating that Ford wants to hear your questions.

I'm sure John knows about the sportsman, maybe it's Ford that doesn't care about them.

I feel horrible for John Force, but I too noticed the comments made. My husband and I looked at each other and said the same thing, no mention of all the cool cars in the sportsman pits. He could have even mentioned all the FORD brand cars that can be found there. So, Ron, I agree, I totally understood your post and I don't think you meant any disrespect to John. I don't think anyone here does, as that segment was OBVIOUSLY pre recorded prior to any knowledge of his accident. They may have put it in the telecast after we were all aware of his accident, but the point remains that there was no mention of the folks that help pay the bills.

Hoping and Praying for a Speedy and hopefully not so painful recovery for John.

Kandra,
On Sundays I visit the NHRA site for results of the sportsman categories. As the day continues, I sheild my eyes as not to see the pro results, because I watch the show that night at around 7 PM and do not want to already know the results. Makes it more fun to watch. What I posted is when I saw it, both times.

Hey guys - if you want to be mad at one of the pros - try Bob Vandergriff. The Pros had a meeting with NHRA a few months ago and someone asked a question concerning the future of sportsman at National Events - Vandergriff was quoted as saying that if it were up to him - sportsman would not be allowed on the property. I now ship with FED-EX.

Ron: That's our normal as well, MOST weekends I don't get online at all. Lane had called to let us know to watch the coverage because he'd heard about Force's Crash. Either way, I still get upset when the Pro's forget who helps pay the bills, not just their sponsors.

Larry: I'd never heard about Vandergriff's comments, and here I was cheering him on in the final last night, now I feel stupid! Not that I don't have that feeling more often than not! LOL!!! :-(

Glad to help you on your trip Jason.
I'm wondering about an 8 hour pass on a "huge liner" ?
You traveling on an....Air-liner ? Or Ocean-liner ?
Can't go very far in 8 hours on an Oceanliner, but airliners don't have chairs to fall out of. Only "seats"

It's killin me, where are ya and what are you doing ?

Larry, I feel your pain if this is true. But his crew chief ,Jim Dupuy, knows more about sportsman racing than most all crew chiefs put together. Anyone that knows him or his father Lynwood, knows that they are sportsman racing people. That is why NHRA got rid of Lynwood, because he was friends with too many racers and Dim Light was scared that he could take his job.
