I for one truly hope he made boat loads of cash on this event (but in reality that likely isn't the case). Enough so much that hosting more of such events in the future will be a deal maker not a deal breaker for all involved. The time, effort, planning and risks are bigger than most would care to embrace. I hope Michael and crew are pleased with the results. Congratulations on a job well done.

Interesting that the make of car you guys bitch about, is a make that hardly has many cars competing when compared to other makes. Many of these discussions mirror discussions that take place in YellowBullet.

It is shame that a few in this forum use their posts for their own personal issuez with other racers, vendettas and jealousy.

Many need to grow up and use this site for positive discussions. We already have enough issues with NHRA that need to be addressed that don't get discussed and they need to be brought up.

X's a thousand (1000) or more. I hope Michael made a bundle. Its a big risk to take. The way things are going I would expect that races like Beard's just might be your only venue in the future. Better than NHRA anyway with out the fuel cars taking up track time.

Not to rehash the same B.S. again; nevertheless, I have seen the documentation sent by Chrysler to NHRA making the parts legal for use. It is the same process used by other OEM's to have parts approved such as the 2 x 4 barrel Shelby's, the higher lift cams, Chevy 283 with a 327 intake, etc...

Again, please edify me why AMC's are different and why the same rules don't apply?
Same rules should apply. Unfortunately over the years a lot of bogus stuff has managed to slip thru, sometimes with the "cooperation" of the factory guys. The problem the AMC guys face is there small numbers, less people making noise.
Group 19 3310 Holley on the Pacer, think that should be legal?

Not for stock, but it would be fair for super stock since the motor is @ 160 anyway.......I would love to see that for the Gremlin!

Eric, show me where the factory installed the 950 CFM "approved" carb. Would you like to debate the TRW piston?
Pat is correct about chasing other bogus parts, but there's too many out there benefitting from them. Oh and NHRA doesn't have the cujones to pick on a combo that has a lot of users.
Jim, you're 100% right. Jim did you know that you could have had a 500 cfm Holley factory installed on the 258" six? High altitude option. :>) We both missed the boat on that one.

Your joking on this one right Ed?, a 500 cfm Holley would be a nice addition, I think all the 2 barrell cars should get some love with a brand new replacement carb like the majority of the 4 barrell cars can.

Your are using a poor example of using the 3310 Holley in a Pacer since there was not a 4 barrel engine offered. The 3310 Holley only applies to 4 barrel engines. The use of the 3310 Holley is the same issue as when they allowed the Boss 351 to use the Holley carb in lieu of the Motorcraft OEM carb.

The issue of "making noise" is the fact that NHRA has always been selective of whom they allow to get away with changes to the specs.
