Now as someone suggested putting them into a different class would be the best thing NHRA could do. I still can't believe we have 8 second stockers that are faster than most super stock cars. And after looking at an intake at tear down in Indy. I think comp is where most of them belong.

As far as Wilkes running as fast as he did. It's their car!!! They spent the money and the time putting it together. Why should anyone else have a right to tell them how they should run it. If they ran the same combo as I do would I be happy. Hell NO!! But If I couldn't go as fast or faster then them instead of crying I'd go home and work on my own **** until I was faster. One thing that I have noticed over all the years of constant threads on this subject is that some of the biggest complainers on this site never run their cars flat out. In fact they are some of the biggest "protectors". Many of them have taken advantage of a HP reduction or loop hole to ride the top of qualifying. At this point, I have little respect for a guy that doesn't show for a heads-up run against a new car. They too are part of the problem.

Another thing to note is that you rarely see any complaining when a rule change is made in Stock. Things like roller rockers and valve springs come to mind. Who asked for that?

I know I spoke at length (as have many) about the lack of AHFS for the FSS race.

Now, let me play devils advocate. I spoke about this on our radio show last night: how do you add HP to an 'artificial' class with an artificial weight and do it fairly? Example: BB/SA is a 7.00 pounds per HP + 170 class. A 427 COPO would run this, at whatever the minimum weight is and a 10.30 Index. It would run FS/B with a 10.35 Index at a 3,350 pound flat min wt. FSS is an abnormal class, Index and weight compared to traditional Stock Classes. It maybe be +/- 100 or so pounds, with a different Index than AA, BB, CC, etc. So, in a way, I don't know how you fairly add HP to it. That is why I proposed what I did on page 20 of the What's Wrong With Stock thread. That would increase FSS participation and allow for the AHFS to work normally.
