the wagon set the F/PS records @ Kanahawa Valley 1/8th & Quaker-City 1/4 mile. That would have been back in 04 . I know because I set record @ Kanahawa Valley too & got to come apart right beside him. The car would run under the K/SA index 12.50 12.60 something like that......

You are right. My brother and I (Detroit Bob is my brother) figured the car would be a natural K/SA car. I don't know where I read or heard it but, someone made the comment that he tried to run the car in NHRA as a K/SA and struggled. Couldn't run the numbers to make it competitive. It seems you know of the car, have you heard anything of this statement?

We are just trying to avoid buying a car that won't be competetive in either K/SA or L/SA. We talked to Adger Smith about the combo and he really didn't comment on the combination one way or the other. So, we are asking a lot of opinions.

My brother and I are going to talk to the owner tonight to get the inside scoop on the whole car. I am not familiar with Parson & Myers, do they build a lot of stocker engines? If they did the engine work I will give them a call. Thanks

The white wagon was a Pure Stocker, the indexes for which are a full second slower than the NHRA Stock indexes. If they entered a Pure Stocker in an NHRA race and ran under the index at all, they were doing quite well.

Among the differences: the Pure Stock cam must check for stock duration and overlap; the stock 80 lb. valve springs must be used; no filled blocks; as well as the OEM type belt-driven water pump, original large pulleys, and steel fan. All of this stuff severely limits the peak rpm and horsepower.

There was a white chevelle wagon at the Edgewater pts. meet (Aug. 2005) that ran 12.56 on the 12.95 index. David Magee from Morningview Ky. if that is the car in question, it was on Racing Juke for sale some time ago.

A wagon would not be in K or L. A wagon would be a natural O car. Weight in O....4895 LBS

Those weights you are quoting are for a Impala, Biscayne wagon, this is a Chevelle, a little lighter around 4200 lbs. This is the David Magee car. A guy in Texas now owns it.

Thumbs up Re: Been Lurking, now ready to ask.

Talked to the owner last night. The car without driver weighs 4262 lbs.
He said the car runs in the 12.50's consistantly on a 13.75 index. That is humid Texas weather. The best time he ran ever was a 12.02. I don't think that is too bad for a pure stocker.

Cool Re: Been Lurking, now ready to ask.

long story short it's not a pure stocker!! it was kicked out of Div.3 pure stock ! it's the car that made such a stink a few years ago....all he done to make it a pure stock car was add mufflers & stock pulleys to the car!
