The Funny Cars and AA Fueler and Pro Stockers are not getting top billing.

I seen a golden opportunity...!!

Another Pinks like Street Car Outlaw program.

There are a lot of shut down and active Tracks that could capitalize on this Street Racer fad..

It is huge but there is nobody upstairs with the Drag Racing Management and Marketing skill to capitalize on this.

Just like them ignoring COMP, Super Stock and Stock...

Street Outlaws maybe hanging five on legality.
I like the intrigue..
Yeah we know it is staged....grow it !!!

Some may remember me making the suggestion of putting on a class car "PINKS All Out" kind of program after my participation experience, actually discussed with Rich Christiansen (who, by the way was very interested) several times only to get shot down by the majority. Now that this debacle has opened a can of worms, Mike Beard is correct in that NHRA continues to sit on their hands until something like this happens, forcing them to respond this way. Although I disagree with a lot of decisions out of Glendora, I have to side with them on this, especially when a racer is foolish enough to leave his number and NHRA decals on his car. But it has also set a precedence in their (lack) of marketing the sportsman guys. And now with Steve Earwood teaming with Rich C and Brian Bossone resurrecting the PINKS brand, S and SS, not just NHRA, are missing out on a golden opportunity.

Sorry to be a bit off topic a bit, but had to add my $.02

YOU MISSED my point by a MILE !!

My point:
The Sanctioning bodies have a opportunity to capitalize on this !
Put on a Street Racing program that was as interesting as PINKS..
Do not know why PINKS stopped. Sure had my attention.

IHRA and NHRA need to get out of the box of the sanctioned professional and amateur and deal with the serious issue of Street Racing.

One of the major prejudices are allowing foreign makes to race with US built cars.
Hell that alone in Stock would double the ranks.

Provide a venue and intrigue.
If it were me I know what I would do.

One interesting point...

I remember Georgia 400 getting built back in the 70's

Deliverance and Smokey and the Bandit were filmed in that area.
Burt Reynolds used a lot of that road before it was completed for his street racing themes in the Bandit series.

Street Outlaws, Fast and Furious, Bullet were all about competition and the baddest ***** cars and crazy souls going after it.

I get the feeling more people were watching Street Outlaws than were going to NHRA Meets.

I think Pro Stock has run its course and why Mountain Motor and other venues are run by the street guys.

Street Outlaws have a small tire and large tire cars racing.
Lot of that comes from the Radial Tire limitation races.

I think if you have the racers put on a venue advertise in national and local newspapers their followers will come.
Intrigue !! Mystery !!

NHRA and IHRA trying and run as many cars through in an hour as possible.

I remember the days of rosin prepped tracks.
The pace slowed down.
The build up. The smack talk. Offside betting.
Everyone was lined up to see those races.
Features that made PINKS exciting.

How many times you see the Fans line up to watch Pro Stock like that ?

Just saying
