Piedmont's not hard to reach from I-40/85. From the east take Exit 138 to NC-61 south, then right on Holt's Store Rd. From the west take Exit 132 to Mt Hope Church Rd south, then left on Holt's Store Rd.

Now, Wayne County Dragstrip in Nahunta/Pikeville NC was hard. I've been there and it still takes me forever to find it again on a map.

BTW, at Sumerduck the sand trap is at a 45 degree angle to the strip; you have to follow a long left-hand curve after the finish in order to reach it.

Carolina Dragway mainly because I couldn't find it in clear, broad daylight. It's off a main highway but I circled three or four times before I saw the sign. At that time, it was the same size and height as a realtor's for sale sign. It was on a regular county road, but was next to a gas station and looked like a service road. It's a great track, though and I wouldn't have any trouble finding it once I'd been there.

Also Englishtown and Maple Grove. Somehow I have a lot of trouble with roads in the eastern US. Having two lane roads marked like 115, 117, 152, 151, and 511 all intersecting within a few miles made me think I was a bit dislexic.

Maple Grove was less of a problem the more I went there. But it's the only track that I heard more than one Pro transporter driver say they had never taken the same way in or out - without trying to do so.

I am not blessed with a sense of direction so GPS systems changed my life.

Mike the first time I ever went there the GPS actually carried me to Julian at 10 o'clock at night with motor home and trailer in tow. Not very many places to turn around there so I guess I never forgot that one, now I could get there with my eyes closed but that first trip was a real treat.
