This really isn't that hard. Everyone already knows who they're racing.
Make the call ..."A-H Stock stick..You run in 15 minutes"..Wait 5 minutes.."All remaining stick cars..15 minutes til tee time". 20 minutes after the call , you close the back of the lanes. No more stick cars allowed in. You snooze , you lose. Meanwhile they have called A-D/SA. Same deal.. After the stick cars start running, you pull back the rope and let the automatic cars in. A goes to lane 1, B to 2 ,etc.
All you need is for NHRA to care enough to do it.

No sure who did it. Maybe Bill Bureski. He did the USCN I in 2001.
I don't have it with me so it will be a few months before I can look for it.
