Be wary of using an old 8201 that has been just laying around.
Because they are oil cooled and insulated they can ,and do loose oil over time ,especially if laying on their side . ...This can lead to overheating or worse overloading the output drivers on the 7AL . They are great coils and were the gold standard for MSD for years and there is certainly nothing wrong with using one ,just be careful with old ones.

My sbf trashed several MSD coils including the 8201. I put a 8251 on it and have had no problems. Given that I have a box of 3 unreliable coils, $150 is cheap.
