seems to me some will need to be set.

and about that 10% speed thing...
some complain about it being a bracket race...
why would you want to run it like a index race...

I used to think this also, and would see some good class racers doing just that. But if you have a hard running car, there are a lot of parts with limited life spans. The cost per run gets pretty high. So I understand why many would not want to do it.

Tony you aren't wrong. A guy would have to have 2 cars or 2 drive trains.The benefit would be a certainty because seat time helps all of us.

Oh I get it. We have local guy at our track spot drops and scrubs e.t. better than anyone I've seen. No one complains or should as I'm sure you didn't. The only reason the things he does down track work is because he's so good on the tree as well.

First off, what’s the record since nobody sets records anymore? NHRA or the racer doesn’t want to tear down. Plus NHRA doesn’t even post the records anymore, if you look there may be a couple die hard old school racers that still care and actually set a record here and there. But the fact is NHRA is too understaffed to deal with a tear down during any given event.

Second it’s not the 70s anymore, that’s why there is indexes etc so everyone can compete in some way shape or form. You think the guys that have a car that fits in G/SA coming into the sport as newbies are going to stick around knowing they can’t make a 305 Camaro run 10.60s against the record?
