One thing I didn’t see mentioned is that AHFS changed.
Basically only one review period and runs less than -.65 don’t count towards the avg. https://www.nhraracer.com/content/ge...633&zoneid=132 Quote:

Vocation. Avocation. Hobby. Do what you want. Some guys just work on their stuff and go to TnTs to measure the results. I don't think less or more of anyone for their desires. |

I too have just got into Stock and was curious as to the answer as well.....then he showed up and destroyed the thread. There's a dozen or so informative posts, on topic, the rest of the 11 pages or whatever it is, is just bickering between him and actual S/SS racers.
WTF????? I can't even read his posts because he's on ignore, but every page has a bunch of "message hidden" and people quoting him. Just ignore and stop responding to him! I will forgo any knowledge I might gain from him, just so I don't have to hear the constant "S/SS is done, racing is over, I have more money than anyone, I am the most brilliant person wherever I go...." First time logging in after the holidays and I feel like immediately logging back out. I think youtube has some metal lathe videos I'll go watch instead.

Dean,
To reestablish your post and what you originally asked before the thread was completely derailed. 1) What major rules have changed over the last 10 years? Not enough to worry about since your car ran under the index. 2) What can or what should be updated to be competitive based on rule changes over the last 10 years? Update the safety equipment and hope to see you at a D5 race or Midwest Class Racers Race 3) Are things like digital ignitions & data acquisition a must even on an old school carbureted stocker? If you like more info and things to occupy your time in between making a pass it is helpful. You have a track thats in your backyard at Thunder Valley in Marian SD. It being resurfaced last year it is great. Sean

I agree, and it saves a lot of money second guessing what you thought may have happened. Each pass I track how long the clutch slid before lockup on the launch and very specific engine info for my combination.
