Re: The "eBay CJ!" (2010 Mustang CJ 352 Build)
It’s been a while since I looked but you might want to check weight box bolt size and number for the top. Everything looks great! It will be one cool ride.

The size looks OK but I think that you'll need 8 3/8ths bolts in the top. Also, no more than 100 lbs. including box.

I'm sorry but the rule book 2009 makes no mention of size or number of bolts to hold the top of the box on. I thought it did. Just old age playing a trick.

Don't feel too bad old man. My 2015 rule book only says 1(one) 3/8 bolt for each 5 lbs. of ballast. I'm only going by "aftermarket" boxes that I have in my shop.

I looked at the 2020 rules online, didn't see anything about size, or bolts, other than 1/2" bolts for mounting to car. My weight box is a Ford Racing part, I have seen it on many CJ cars.

Larry, you and Billy aren't wrong, this is from 1998 NHRA rule book, that was when I built my 89 Mustang stocker, I made a box with 6 bolts holding the cover on, this isn't in the more recent rule books.

Covered up the package tray with some .032 aluminum, that finished the trunk, other than wiring. put the hood on and drilled for the hood pins. installed the bumper cover, upper and lower grilles. installed the snaps for my "Classic Coverall" from MJ Quinn @ Derby City Covers, and attached it to prevent damage while working under the hood.

Re: The "eBay CJ!" (2010 Mustang CJ 352 Build)
Thanks Jerry all of my boxes that I made use six 5/16 bolts for the top. I wonder why NHRA deleted the drawing? The drawing gives everyone a road map for a safe weight box.

Larry, it was in the 2002 rule book, I am missing the 2003, it isn't in the 2004 , so either 2002 or 2003 must have been the last time it was in there.

They decided to just go with what looks reasonable. A dozen 1/4 x 20 bolts would probably work , but too much hassle.
