All these cars are going to be in Stock Eliminator. Fords, Challengers and Chevys. Get over it. The eliminator is bracket race anyway.

I'd like all three to offer the V-6's these cars can be really bought with. They all make 300+ hp from the factory, pretty impressive.

Oh really? Tell Ryan McClanahan that, seems like the semi's in Vegas weren't a bracket race.

Yea Andrew I don't know why Tony keeps saying that. There were bunches of heads up in the eliminator this year . Some in the finals ...Correct?
I know we were hiding from certain people this year trying not to draw them in the eliminator. I don't remember doing that back when I was bracket racing

Another advantage that these new Cobra Jets, Drag Paks and now, COPOs offer is the improved ability to win the eliminator. Just like what we have seen happen in Super Comp, Super Gas, etc., the faster cars have the advantage when the race is always in front of them. Their opponent also has the first chance to red light. You're already starting to see a couple of the "hitters" driving the new cars, and I think you're going to see a lot more in the future. They are "obsoleting" the older cars and NHRA is letting it all happen with the "bogus" HP factors.

By the numbers Las Vegas stock in 92 races 4 heads up or about 5% of the field. That is not my defintion of a performance based eliminator, more representative of a bracket race. The final qualifying had 102 cars but there were 10 singles. This reduces the amount of races to 92.The winner, Jim Meador, had not heads up but he had a single which reduces is rounds of competition to 6 instead of 7. There was a total of 21 red lights.

As I said before,I did NOT have a dial in on my car in the fourth round of the Joliet Divisional and the third round of the Joliet National. There were also two other races where I WOULD HAVE had a heads up race in another round, had I advanced.

I REALLY tire of comments such as: "It's only a bracket race".

Maybe if you lose in the first round all of the time,it could be perceived as a bracket race, but heads up runs occur far more frequently than some realize!

There are no heads up no breakout races in bracket racing.

Just because the size of the field and the number of classes reduces the chance of heads up races does not mean it is not a performance based class. You have the chance of a heads up race, you qualify based on your performance compared to an index for your combination. Sounds like a performance based class. Is it as performance based as some would like? No.

However, 3-4 of the fastest traditional AA and A cars in the country, with drivers easily capable of winning a national event, have been eliminated in late rounds by new cars in heads up races, where the traditional cars were not even close.
