Yes, Tom Elk! My girlfriend lived right down the street from him. He had a 68 Nova SS/J. I grew up in Newark and used to stop and talk to him occasionally when I was a teenager. Even helped him put a fresh engine in the car once. Damn I'm gettin old(er)

WagonKiller,
It would probably depend on the car's history and how correct the car is to the way it was raced. Bob Rice |

I was watching one of the car auction shows this past week and saw a '56 Chevy Jr. Stocker come across the block. It was a west coast car I think and had a 265 2-4 barrel carb engine with a stickshift and looked just like it would have in the mid 60's. The info said it ran H/S as well as some other classes in it's day and was raced for 10 or more years I think it sold for about $35,000

Mark, Thanks for posting the pic of the old wagon. That car did pretty well in Div 1 in 72-73.
1980 Connecticut Dragway S/SS Track Champ, too It is still around, too. It is the Kinash "Wizard " car. Rich, I think the 12.08 on Richie's car must be the record he was running off of. I don't think we put dial -unders on the cars back then at Englishtown.

Hmmmm ok so i got a 265 located in good condition, now i need a 2+4 intake, figure out what cam was in it,Now should i try to find this hydro thing? or leave the 4 spd in it.I am seriously worried about parts availability if it breaks, maybe get the hydro(still 1 old parts yard here)and have it on hand? Exactly what did these hydro things come in?And how dependable are they for drivability?I was told there funky if you road drive a lot. LOL Funny thing is i have a brand new TPI 350 that was destined for my ride, sitting in front of it on the motor stand, that i now have NO use for. |

WagonKiller,
Put the 350 behind the 265 if you want to drive it and try locating a hydro in Hemmings in case you want to make it completely original. Bob Rice |
