Bob, Thanks for the update. I missed the NHRA office by one day or I would have had the latest info.

I had some questions about missing a time pass over an easy tech fix like a tail light, but if you treat your race car like an airplane and do a good walk around when you first set up, you are good to go. This puts more on the racer where it really belongs. Know the rules for your class and take responsibility for your own safety.

The idea of being randomly teched in the lanes is BS.
Twice I had a tech guy that said I was not legal when he didn't know the rules, I'd been assured from California I was legal. That time I left the National Event without competing because no one would step in and over rule the guy. The other time after some wrangling the ruling was so off of the wall that it was over turned. If some guy that doesn't know or understand a rule shows up in the lanes before first round you'd be DONE for the weekend! I missed a qualifying pass at Vegas once because some guy at the starting line said I had to have a fire jacket in U/S. Last edited by Bill Koski; 12-27-2016 at 05:05 PM. |

Here's a thought that does not sound appealing....local bracket tech men from the track where the national event is held could be the ones walking through the staging lanes and randomly checking stock and S/S.

Problem with that is some of these guys don't even have a clue what they are doing much less looking at. I've been saying for YEARS that ALL tracks need tech people who have to stick 100% to the book. We don't race junk and have 4 cars now that range from 4.20's to 4.90 and our local guys don't even look at them. Ive even offered to show them my gear and the cars and they just look at me like I'm crazy.

I am ok with most of this. I have never understood the issue with stacking whenever you arrive. I leave many races and drive to the next race arriving Tues or We'd before the next race. Now we will have find somewhere to stay on those days. Usually we will park motor home and either sightsee, visit local restaurants etc or do maintainance on the rig or car. If they are going to let us self park at the track surely we have enough sense to pull in a field outside the track and get in a line. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Question . If you filled you tech card out at home can you change classes when you get to track? Or you stay in class you picked? Sometimes I need to hide.

Can you leave it blank till you get there and decide or will the program not print unless all info is entered?
