In 1970 I was in Jr. high. My "Project" was the V-8 engine. I purchased a kit, Renwal's Visible V8. What seemed like thousands of parts came together to be a working engine complete with little glow lights emulating spark plugs that fired when the motor was spun over. It took me at least a month to finish it. I assembled the engine in our basement with Cosmo Factory playing continually. Every time I hear one of the deeper cuts that I haven't heard for a while it takes me back to the 1970 basement. Got an A+ .

Funny how we can download an entry into our brains, and it's still there, a half a century later.
1970, I was visiting some friends from High School in California, and driving my 64 Bonneville up the coast. I stopped in a tire store in Monterrey to fix a spare, and this song was on the radio as I walked through the door.... :-)

[QUOTE=Mark Yacavone;683134]Easy enough to come up with a couple of lines for today's Two-fer LOL
To paraphrase what J.J. Cale said about this song, He wrote it in one style then rewrote it in the current form. He took it around to radio stations and they would not touch it. Eric Clapton recorded it and it went right to the top and got played everywhere. He went on to say "God bless Eric Clapton". Eric returned the favor with the great tribute album "The Breeze" Last edited by 340Cuda; 07-18-2023 at 01:50 PM. |
