What a JOKE!!!!
NHRA you are an idiot!!! And the racers who show up to support them at National events are just as bad! Everyone knew this was going to happen and this would have been the perfet time to show NHRA that if this is what NHRA wants this is what they will get!! 30 to 40 cars for total car count!! NO SUPPORT Oh, I forgot! We can't stand together for anything!!! |

My car is at Indy this weekend being raced by Bo Butner. He just got out run by a new Challenger that went 10.20 at 131 in E/SA. Junior I agree with you about not going to National events. I let Bo have my car because he blew his up in Bowling Green.

With the mockery that the 5.7 is making of C/D/E, the supercharged CJ's don't look so far out of whack anymore...
My sympathies to the guys with tried and true non-CJ/DP cars that don't have a prayer in class. Pretty pathetic. Mark Lelchook has a really fast '69 340 Cuda in D and he's a half-second behind...and that's just one example.

Jared, Bo went a 10.80 and got out run by 6 tenths. 10.80 is 1.20 under the old indexes.

Maybe have Indy 4 -times a year and it would only take about 2 years (maybe) to correct itself. I know ,just drop the indexes 3 more tenths. This is waaaayyyy screwed up !

Ryan McClanahan's engine let go about the 1200 foot mark.
I always like to stay positive and I will be back here next year, but the new cars are so far ahead. It is hard to stay up beat when you see the numbers these cars can run I feel for everyone that has worked so hard on their combo's. Maybe just maybe NHRA will see what happen this week and fix the disparity between the new and old cars. On some lighter notes, A Stick has been a blast to watch. John Calvert just beat Ralph Porpora in the semi's, and will run Jason McCormack for the class final. B/SA will also be fun to watch, it does not have any new cars to deal with. Hawk, DeFrank and Wilkes are the cars to beat. Who's knows what these guys are holding. Kreeber was my pick to surprise everyone, but he lost on a hole shot is round 2. I know things are looking bad with these new cars, but in the grand scheme of things life is pretty good. Hey, I'm not in the show, but I still happy to be here and still having fun. They just called stock back to the lanes for 3rd round of class. |
