Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
Saturday the 26th gates open at 1pm. Three time runs then eliminations. Sunday gates open at 10am. Three time runs then eliminations. Cars will be laddered as usual from the first round. This is a combo race, Stock and Super Stock will all run. $10 to the track per person, then $50 into the Association at Tech, with a 100% payback. We encourage you to join the Association ($20 per year). This will include a newsletter and membership card. Tina Summerton (Sec/Treas.) can sign you up at the track if you like. We have voted to use IHRA classes and indexes since there are more classes for everyone to fit in. You can claim IHRA or NHRA HP factors, which ever one is lower. Come legal and ready to have fun! Jim

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
I am looking forward to this. It's a great track, and I am also looking forward to putting a few faces to names too. If you've never been there before, Ed and Dorothy will likely greet you soon after coming in, and I know you will enjoy racing there.
Make sure you bring some lighting , if you don't have any on your trailer. It can get pretty dark there, in pits. Track lighting is good, just pits can be a little dark. $50 and $25 bonus's for winner and runner up, from my company, Rogers Electric ,for this race also.... Just to help this grow.

Re: The Next Southern S/SS Assn. Race!
What about any major company's doing sponsorship?
What about the association fee's? what are they going towards where will the next race be at after reynolds? When are we going to start earning points? are the min weight the same in NHRA/IHRA ? is there a copy of minutes from the formation of this association so everyone that was not at the 1st race can see what was all voted on. Is there a web site for the association yet? Last edited by FlyingW; 07-05-2008 at 01:06 AM. |

Quote:
The membership money ($20) goes toward paying for pens, paper, membership cards, decals and eventually a news letter and postage etc. We haven't decided where the next race will be. Still talking to different tracks. We are doing one race at a time right now. The points started with the race at Lakeland. Tina Summerton is in charge of that and has it all compiled nicely. The IHRA rules and regulations are what we voted to use because of there are more classes for everyone to fit in. Also the indexes are softer and so are some of the HP factors. However any NHRA or Nostalgia classes and indexes can be used if the racer desires. I believe Tina has the minutes from the meeting (she is the Sec/Treas.) No, there is currently no web site. That is also being discussed and worked on. Things are moving along nicely. We have accomplished a great deal in a short time. We should have a great turnout for the next race by the number of emails we are receiving. The next race at Reynolds will be fun! I can't wait. Jim
