I don't care if it's $5.00, It should be a longer period subject to tech inspection over ride (i.e., if the belts are obviously neglected / damaged then they must be replaced before racing). Personally, I don't replace the belts if outdated until I know the car is ready. That's because wen in chassis prison the warden may tease me and say your getting out in two weeks. Often times the sentence gets extended. Experience has taught me I could waste a few months of belt certification based on the warden's bad advise!

Again, I would love to hear the diaper issue will go away for us...

(prison, warden, diapers. All in one paragraph....doesn't sound too good!)

I'm sure everyone has a quite a collection of expired belts.
This is one of the many subjects I have addressed with SFI and it has been an exercise in futility. In a nutshell, NHRA adopted a rule for everyone, that should be enforced mostly in open-bodied cars. The seat belt deterioration is a problem in open bodied cars such as dragsters. altereds and similar cars. However, NHRA decided to extend the SFI requirement as a blanket certification to the whole community.

I stopped using Simpson belts when they stopped rewebbing them many years ago.
I bought Stroud and have had them rewebbed each year during the off season.
I only live about 280 miles from Stroud in OKC. If I call them and let them know they are coming and send them out UPS on Monday they are usually back on Thursday or Friday shipped regular ground.
The off season (Nov, Dec, Jan) may be the key to the quick service but it works for me and it is only $50 plus shipping. The only way to go if you use a cam lock.
My 2 Cents
