Most of the SS racers that(I know) won't unlock the garage door for an 1/8 mile race.

Hey Jim, how did things go this weekend. I wish I could have went but things worked out best because I ended up having tranny problems.

In today's world (i.e. today's NHRA upper management) I don't see this happening, unless there is a plan to build really tall grandstands at the national event tracks, because I doubt many spectators are going to pay for seats past the finish line. Along with that line of thinking, I doubt they will have this 1,000 ft. deal for 2009. Let's remember a little history, in 1984 NHRA said that all classes would be run on 1,000 ft. tracks begining in 1985, but that never came about.
This is JMHO, and I really dont care what the do with the professional classes one way or another. I don't watch them anyway, on TV or in person at an event. Here is a thought that just may happen, and would not surprise me. All sportsman classes run 1/8 mile at national events "to expidite clean up time" in the event of a sportsman racer suffering mechanical failure. Once again, this is JMHO (just my humble opinion), so take it as such.

I was told about this rule from a fellow racer that was told about it from a NHRA track owner.
Jim, Wish I could of been there I have been restructuring my business both the Tae Kwon Do and the Machine shop. I have had the honor to start a Tae Kwon do program at no charge for the Florida baptist home (orphanage) to teach these young boys and girls tae kwon do. Which is very close to my heart right next to Drag racing due to the fact I was adopted in 1979. So I hope the next race I can attend. I will car you for about our car show at our church in lakeland. it will be Novenber 8th so come all. Please let me know when and where the next race is.
