Talking Re: NHRA's Best attribute...

You know I have to thank NHRA. WHAT! Yes that's right, because the more things such as this deal with Travis and the more "enhancements" we receive, the better the Racing Associations that are becoming popular will do. 8 out of 10 racers who race with us at the SSSSA tell us they are tired of the BS coming down from the NHRA. There are several of these associations throughout the country and they are all doing well. Hey NHRA, racers just wanna have fun! Jim

Jim and Smitty, I kept silent on this, waiting for someone else to speak first. And now that you have, I may be opening a can of worms, or a pot of gold. Bear in mind...this is a "what if"..... what if these associations were to hire Mr. Miller away from NHRA..albiet at less pay...simply to add more legitamacy to these events? It would allow the option of record runs and maybe class eliminators for those looking for an NHRA alternative. Please don't mistake me... I don't want the SSSA to be "enhanced" by any stretch. This would be in addition to what we're already doing. But there are several racers out there "on the fence" between running NHRA events and the growing popularity of independent - regional Association races. This may be the breaking point for those who doubt and enough to convince them to finally break the NHRA habit.

Just my thoughts...

Thumbs up Re: NHRA's Best attribute...

No ASSociation pays LESS than NHRA. Been there.....done that. IHRA pays more but none of the above pays what its worth. Its done for the love of the sport. Travis is one in a million and what the drag racers need more of no matter what the association. Terry

Ed,
We would be happy to do just that but we really have our hands full right here in the Southeast! You yourself could get something going in your area. We would be glad to help. Everyone deserves to go racing and have fun doing it! Our rules are very simple and will not change without the membership voting on it. Go for it! Jim
