RICH BIEBEL......Dave Boertman's car was a yellow 2-door Biscayne running N/SA. Correct on the engine combo and the engine cost Dave less than $400 dollars to build back then. Yes....a lot of red lights that day. Just some info....not that it really matters today.

Terry B. I think is your name, yes? I have a real good memory but some details get lost....car colors seems to be one. I am almost positive on Bobby Warren's car being brown with a black vinyl top and NO lettering. Some of the other H/Stockers that were there and made good runs......Tom Elk in a Nova like ours, Jack Marks, in an Oldsmobile....I do recall the redlight deal and particularly because we ran out of the T/K stable and I always knew what was going on with Ray and the Chevelle......I was in the stands watching after a bad night of sleeping in my ramp truck near the airport hangers. We were asked to leave the hotel we were staying at in Gettysburg.......we got a little too rowdy and got caught creating quite a fracas.....It was pay the bill and get out or we call the police......Me and my old partner and very good friend still laugh about that one when we get together......

Rich,
Bobby's car had a white or cream colored vinyl top. George Cureton changed it to black after he bought the car.

I belive it was 1974 I went to Gainesville and didn't make the show in super stock because I didn't win class. It so happens that both the winner & runner up in my class(SS/J) were tossed so there was no class winner for the eliminator.

I also was at the 74 gators and lost in the final round of class to joe scott and i did not make the field also, but it was a lot harder to get in back then because it was a 64 car field and not 128.

Rich.....Yes on the name. Bob Rice is correct on the color of the top of Bobby Warren's car and after George C. bought it. Your correct in that it was brown. It's a B***H getting old.....ain't it......LOL. P.S.....Yes, I was there during that race also as a spectator. Do you remember the GREEN '64 Max wedge that ran Boertman in the final?

Was it Wayne Dokken from Florida? It was called the "Crispy Critter".
