Let me know what you find out there...
I contacted M&R, and they said that they are posting again this year. Just waiting for the new Drag Review now to see if they run any coupons.

At the PRI show Stroud said they were only posting in NHRA, that's only for parachutes.

Oh No, not parachutes again - remember last time when they showed up on U/SA stockers for contingency reasons!
Actually, I think the IHRA site is just not up to date yet. I know we posted for Howell Printing the first of December and it's not listed yet. |

Angela,
It was posted on the IHRA webpage on 12/5/08 under the title 2009 Rule Book Updates. STOCK If 2 competitors are in the same class at the World Finals Tournament of Champions they will run off of a dial in. A jacket and pants meeting a minimum of SFI 3.2A-5 and a SFI 3.3 neck collar are mandatory on all entries going 9.99 or quicker ΒΌ or 6.40 1/8. A jacket and pants meeting a minimum of SFI 3.2A-1 are mandatory on all entries going 10.00 to 11.49 1/4 or 6.40 to 7.50 1/8. Engines may be a maximum of .075 overbore. I've gone 7.48 twice, but I guess fire will burn me the same if I go 7.52; so I am getting a pair. I'm going to a local racewear shop for a custom fit, so that my pants won't be 8" too big in the waist and 5" too long.

The Volare's been on fire twice. I don't really have a problem with fire pants. Considering where the fire is likely to come from, almost makes more sense than a jacket for the "first" line of defense.
Too bad about Stroud. ;-( I'm in the market for fire pants, seat belts, and probably a new helmet by the end of the year.

I'm sorry to hear that too. Seems like a mandatory pants rule would have encouraged them to stay because of the business it would generate. But I guess they have their own reasons and numbers.

There reason was they didn't feel they got a return on their investment in IHRA. I can't see where they will sell that many chutes in NHRA.Although Fletch did have one on the stocker at 1 time, like he stands a chance of collecting on it.

I knew there was something on here I had posted under and then forgot to follow up on it, this was it. So Scott needs fire pants now. He has always just wore jeans with his fire jacket, but we'll get him some fire pants to wear over them. Maybe he'll actually wear shorts to the track now? Nah, that'd scare you poor folks
