Here is a picture of our driveway. We are doing pretty well so far. We still have enough diesel for a few more days. We called and ordered more, but our supplier has been taken over by the emergency management services. We do still have our motorhome full of diesel and propane, but it is hard to fit 15 people in it.

Larry,Patsy,
Good luck. Sounds rough in many areas right now. We have 8-10 inchs of snow and 2 or 3 ice under it in Dayton area. So far we have power. We lost all power with the winds in September, Nov?
Wanting to be prepared we contracted for a Natural Gas 17KW home emergency generator to be installed at the house. We specifically told the contractor we were starting early so he could have it done before the bad weather hit. Well???? The trenchs they dug getting ready to put in the lines are full of snow and the Generator is still in his shop. We are lucky so we cannot complain ...I hope he is ready to bring generators to run the house if we have your conditions here....
See you in the Spring....Racers will do what it takes to survive...Dick Butler

I hope everyone suffering from this storm gets their power soon, but I heard about the mid-February prognosis for some on the news last night. Parts of New England were hit pretty badly by an ice storm in December. Maybe there is something to what people are saying about the need to improve the power grid infrastructure.

BTW, would whoever stole the January thaw please return it? I know it's too late for january, but at this point I'll take it even if it is a bit late.

We lost our power for 43 hours but got lucky. The ice buildup is the most I can ever recall.

I can't park in my driveway due to the neighbors tree.

The Bardstown, Nelson County area got hit pretty hard. Not as bad as Elizabethtown, KY tho.

I showed my wife the picture Bud Lefevre posted of his home
covered in snow. She said I could add Ohio to the list of places
not to consider retiring to.

What is going on with the weather in the USA? You guys have
snow and ice and we have sunshine and high 70 degree temps
in January??

But don't think about moving out west, we have NO jobs, there
are over 44,000 people just here in Orange County, CA without
jobs....even Disneyland is laying off people.
