Troy,

Its the reservoir for the factory intercooler. The 2008 was made of plastic, 2010's look as if they are getting a fabricated aluminum piece. You can see it still has the factory cap on it. Ford is trying to clean up the engine compartment, aiding in a some what easier tear down.

Well I guess the era of the Hemi and Corvette/Camaro dominating SS/AA and SS/BA has ended.

If I recall correctly, I read that these all aluminum motors in the '10's will be rated at 475. If my math is correct, that has them weighing 3257 in SS/BA. Rated less than the 427's but will make more power than the Race Hemi and has 40 years advancements in aerodynamics working in it's favor....think it'll be fast?

Very nice presentation by Mr. Wolfe. I thought the 2008 car was well thought out, but for a factory built car this is beyond my expectations. All brand prejudice aside, there are some really good things happening at Ford Motor Company. I just hope more of these cars are raced than are stored in museums.

That mustang is a SS/BA car? Do they make a supercharger for a 426 Hemi? We are building a new SS/BA 65 Coronet for next year. How fast will it have to run to qualify for Indy, After these mustangs get on the track? Will these mustangs be able to run SS/CA? Why would'nt the supercharger mustangs fall into a SS/modified class?

My goodness, how is my 427 Corvette with one carb going to compete with those dual carbed Hemi Coronets? Maybe they should put them into Pro Stock, because they have more induction!

They need the two carbs to make up for the terrible aerodynamics. You can make all the power you want, but those square bodies are hinderence compared to the vettes.
