I'm with Fred.
Rich's "I arm drop for a living" statement cracks me up.

Actually I don't think shoe polish racing is drag racing. Doesn't rally racing require you to be at the finish line at a certain time? Sort of like bracket racing only slower.

Well, what would you say if somebody (Rich) was interested in developing a racing show that showcased S/SS cars ? Developing a rules structure similar to NHRA/IHRA. Getting the quality of our cars and competition in front of the masses in person and on SPEED TV. Actually PROMOTING S/SS racing. This might get the young crowd interested in our style of racing and bring people out of the woodwork from days gone by. I am going to try and help this program get off the ground. (sorry Gary, LOL) Potential sponsors that don't have the capital to fund a professional team can sponsor a team for alot less money in S/SS teams and have their company logo on national tv. It's a win-win situation. Nobody is bad mouthing any sanctioning body. Just trying to promote another alternative to an exhaustive and costly run for a national championship with todays sanctioning bodys. If you like the idea, great ! If you don't , that's ok. I think it will benefit all S/S racers in the long run. You can run these races and NHRA, IHRA, AHRA or your local S/SS association (All of the above is cool) A series of hour long shows on SPEED. TV. It's all good.

I hated the original pinks program, but I think he may have gotten it right by now. I hear the street squirrels and the kids at the local track on test & tune night and they dig the crap out of it. If this is a chance to get out there with stockers & super stockers, it might be a fun & good thing.
I feel that something is going to have to change or us & our dinasours are going to become extinct. I think these stock/super stock associations are a step in the right direction. As long as the major assoiciation controls the rule book, and they do a good job of it, they will keep us on their pupet strings. Enforcement of the rules is a different story. It seems to be a "who you know deal". I think an independent, non-profit association, needs to be formed to take over the rule book and enforce it. You know, the way it originally was. In this way more $ could go the the track operators (and they need it if they're going to provide us a good play ground) who need to make a profit. And more $ could go the the racers. This would require a monumental undertaking and I doubt we could unite enough to pull something like this off. Just my views, now go ahead and take your shots at me.

Gary,
I would guess that most of these events are probably already full. The past two events at Infineon sold out in a matter of days, and sometimes hours. Two years ago I signed up for the race at Infineon. I was on the waiting list and got a call from them a week prior to me deploying overseas with the military. I ended up having to let my slot go, and was out the money. This year, I bought a slot in Jan. for Infineon again for the Sept event. It looks as though I will not be able to make this event either due to another deployment. I did not specify that my car was a Stocker, but am entered. Hopefully things will change, and I will be able to attend. More than likely, I will be out the $60 again though. The no refund policy is a joke, and the fact that you can't give your ticket away should be addressed. If I can't use the ticket I paid for, I should either be able to get my money back, or have the right to transfer it to someone else. It isn't like they don't have someone waiting in line to take the slot. For this reason, I will not enter again.

Military deployment and the Pinks people wouldn't refund your entry money? That is poor judgement on their part.....Thanks for serving our country. Everything seems to be about money these days, I guess....WJ
