It was tongue in cheek referring to Ford entering the Snow Mobil class with a blown (leaf blower in this case) snow mobile.

I know you were joking but I just HAD to throw the Mustang "Leaf Blowers" in there. Notice the "laughing" icon in the corner of the post.
Its just pretty sad when the racing associations bring in crap like the "Belt Sanders" and they get better treatment than the regular class racing supporters. Maybe the stock and S/S racers should just take a year off (save thier money and equipment) and let the associations put on thier freak shows.

Oh, and don't forget.....those "Legends Cars" from roundy-round Nascar are coming to Sportsman racing very soon.....they will also probably run before the S/SS cars go off as well.....what was that saying from Rodney Dangerfield about respect?? Sure....... WJ

Well... I certainly didnt expect this to lead to a mustang/blower/chainsaw/beltsander/logsplitter discussion. Pretty funny stuff though. Buddy Ingersol proved a long time ago that BLOWERS cant be trusted. The Sexual and Nonsexual type, in my opinion!!! LOL

Almost all the fans I've talked to really like the sleds.....especially when they are running at 1/4 mi. tracks in parts of the country where snowmobiles are real popular.....like the Midwest (Indy), New England, and many areas of the far North West.....and yes, the fastest 1/4 mi. asphalt-prepped sleds (low 8's, even high 7's) run quicker than most ALL classes of stock and superstock doorslammers.....HOWEVER, being a NEW competition class, they should be scheduled to run LAST at ALL Sportsman race events. Whether it be time trials, qualifying, or elimination runs, they should run last. Pair them up w/motorcycles if you want, whatever....I do think the sleds are here to stay, are exciting to watch, very high-tech, and once the snowmobile fans hear they're running at NHRA and IHRA events, they will be in the stands in good numbers-----probably MORE of them that are showing up to watch the stockers and superstock cars run at the present time.....sadly enough. What happened with the running order at Indy just proves that NHRA just doesn't have much respect for the stock/superstock racers any more....just my opinion. WJ

They are called "SNOW MOBILES" so they should run in January, Febuary and March right after a snow storm along with Top FOOL and the HA HA cars.

Yes, Terry.....The sleds are also drag racing on frozen lakes and man-made ice tracks w/their carbide tipped ice-pick- pinned tracks and carbide- runnered skis all over the US and Canada in the winter months (Jan.-Feb.).....they also run them on grass tracks w/packed clay starting lines from Sept. thru November in certain parts of the country and Canada.....some reaching 135mph plus in 500 feet.....AND most sanctioned races draw thousands! The Snowmobile 1/8 and 1/4 mile asphalt drag racers are a well- organized and professional group, and should be welcomed by everyone here....PLUS, their money is nice and green! Not their fault that our governing bodies can't set up a fair race order/event format and schedule for EVERYONE'S daily racing.....Again, just my take on this.....from "an old sled dog".....Best wishes Terry..... Fans? What fans? The only fans that support the Indy divisional is the sportsman racers, there are very few fans. So who in the sportsman ranks rushes to the stands to watch belt sanders? or for that matter T/S or T/D? We are talking Indy divisional, right? I have been going there for over 30 years and there are no fans. When you go out to eat, people will ask you why you are in town, you say the race, and they say 'What race?' HELLO, this is filler for what? For the circus, right? That's what it will be pretty soon if not already and then they can advertise, come to the circus at IRP ...
