I don't think the floor between the trans tunnel and body are legal. See section 10.5 of the rule book on SS flooring.

Car looks great! Fred is right per rule. However, Pat is a class act over there at PK. His flooring does look better than the original we are supposed to leave in there. I'm sure he knows what he's doing without question. Keep up the good work Pat!

According to Super Stock GT rules and the ref. 7.5 general rules there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way PK has done this floor.

Nice work Pat.

You might want to read the rule book a little closer....

7:5 FLOOR
All cars without floors must be equipped with floor pans made of
steel or aluminum that must extend the full length and width of the
driver compartment to the rear of the driver’s seat. Cars equipped
with floors or bellypans made of fiberglass or other breakable
material must have metal subfloors. In all cars with OEM fiberglass
floors, a crossmember (minimum 2 inches x 2 inches, .083-inch wall

FLOOR
Headers must fit under stock floor location. The stock framerails
from the firewall to the radiator support must retain stock
attachment configuration, stock location, and stock dimensions.
Frame may be notched for header clearance.
For FWD conversion cars, a driveshaft tunnel must be fabricated of
same-as-OEM material minimum and must be fully welded to the
as-built OEM floor. See General Regulations 7:5.

General Regulations 7:5 for Superstock Eliminator cars references the rear suspension information when relocating and installing new wheel tubs, frame, etc.

I think you build cars, so you might want to read the rule book a little closer. The floor, within the drivers compartment, must remain stock with the exception of the transmission tunnel and from the driver/passenger seat rearward.

Looks like Fred is correct on this one. I too wondered about the floor when I first saw the pictures. Anyone care to notify NHRA before this car gets to race. Its time we put a stop to cars being built anyway the builder interprets the rules. Or maybe they will just cave and change the rules.

Travis?
Bruce?
Bob?
anybody out there?

When we built our '57 with almost all original flooring, Bruce laid under the thing for an hour in Denver, taking multiple pictures, first he said he liked it, then he wasn't sure, then we brought it back for more "looking", we even got an official letter of mandatory changes necessary. Finally we made some very minor changes where the dog house came down, about 36 sq inches per side. Our chassis guy said it was less original than his first design, but we complied.

Here, we seem to have a difference of opinion on legaility, howz about a NHRA tech guy chiming in?

I'm sick of comp cars w/SS on the window
