Drooze,

Dont know for sure all of the mods but it does
show the potential of the new tech 5.0.

The website doesnt have the n/a mod list up yet
as of the last time I looked at it.

Is this a full NHRA Legal setup ?

Second What class for the weight would this run have been in ?

Or is this just a street tuner project ?

Nothing wrong and still impressive, but a whole different ball of wax as I have learned first hand with these specs...

Any porting, any cam lift past OE, Stock compression ? etc etc..
Street car with a tune and minor changes. Check out the latest issue of Mustangs & Fast Fords and see Evan Smith pull a wheel off the ground on a bone stock 2011 5.0 Mustang with sticky tires, go low 12's and 60's in the 1.6's range.

Low 12's to 10.9's is a big, big spread.....I'm sure there were some big differences in Evan's test car and the 10.90's car.....however, Evan's times w/that GT stocker are scary fast....Heck, I can remember when Evan was rowing stick '98-'99 LS-1 pure stock Camaros w/street tires to 12..8's in his tests (GM Hi-Tech Magazine) shortly after those cars were introduced....Good LS-1 NHRA Camaro/Firebird/GTO stockers are running what?......high to mid-10's? And capable of? Low 10's, even high 9's? The GT Mustang cars just may end up being classed w/some of the LS-1 cars. Good competition---that's why we need all the new performance cars......and yes, those 5.0 Fords are going to be something else in stock eliminator after people really get into them.... WJ

And let's not forget, anybody with a checkbook can walk into any dealership in the country and buy one on the floor or order one!
I'd love to have one myself. In fact, I would lean more to a GT than a GT-500.

4 valve heads are wonderful arent they ?

We have them on the lot, starting sticker around
32,500 or so.I dont know how many we have sold
but they are moving out left and right, autos and sticks.

I am telling you lower class guys the 3.7 is a killer.

The new Mustangs are certainly fast and the new 5.0L engine (DOHC, variable cams, etc.) will be fun to work with. I have an article coming out in one of the new Dragsters on the 5.0. I tested the GT500 last night at Bradenton (3,300 ft. corrected) and went much faster than I did in the 412hp GT. (Sorry I can't publish the e.t.s yet).

Rated from Ford at 412, I doubt the new 5.0 will be a killer in NHRA Stock and I wonder how much is left to be unleashed since it's pretty high strung from the factory.

There is a complete article in the new MM&FF that has the Grabber Blue GT on the cover and it son the newstands now. It is the July issue. We got the left front wheel up in bone stock car, save for Mickey Thompson DOT drag radial tires. I wish we had skinnies and that I yanked the front anti-roll bar. With those mods, plus more gear (we had the optional 3.73) and a little weight out 11s would be possible.

WJ, that was a fun test of the '99 LS cars, I can't believe you remember that. Playing with the factory vehicles, and rowing the H-pattern, is a ton of fun.

The "list" of mods, from Stang Tv,

1st,
Evolution Performance was one of the first performance shops to take the 2011 Mustang GT and run impressive quarter mile times. A drag 3-link suspension, gear change, DOT legal drag radials and 100 shot of nitrous was the first tune-up thrown at the car and it responded with a best time of 10.88 et at 127 mph.

Then,
With further weight reduction and tuning, the car continued to knock down some impressive numbers with a best run of 10.55 at 128 mph with 60 ft times in the 1.40 range. While Evolution was busy making news with the new Mustang, Justin Burcham and his JPC Performance had their 2011 Mustang project car running in the 10's as well.

Now,
Testing has continued on the Evolution car. A recent test-n-tune report on Evolution's Facebook page reports that the Mustang made an all motor pass at 10.97 et at 124 mph. The changes that took place since the last all motor passes consisted of a more aggressive tune, two race seats, no rear seat, full slicks, stiffened rear suspension and a 8 point cage.
