Unforgettable wheelstand sequence in the "Monsters of Launch" video that Larry Pfister of Horsepower Heaven put out a few years ago. Gordon grabbed 2nd gear while in the air and went higher,,,then came the inevitable touchdown back to Earth,,,,,not a pretty sight.

One of my favorite videos!
And the front end sheet metal didn't quite look right afterward, either...

Gords Chevelle did take a good hit on "re-entry", as anybody who has seen the video can attest, after the 1/2 shift, the bumper hit the ground, and lifted the rear slicks off the ground, which naturally caused an immediate loss of foreward momentum. In addition to the damaged headers and oil pan, the scattershield flange got bent, the carb dented the hood, and the frame required a bit of a pull to repair. Gords back also took a bit of a beating. He did install wheelie bars after that incedent, but the car didn`t work as well, and front shocks and travel limiters were sufficent to "tame the beast", so the bars came off.

Rory,,,,,,I'm hoping you and the gang are coming down across the border for the stick shift race this weekend at Bremerton. The party won't be the same without the B.C. Supershifters,,,,,,,,,,see ya there.

It seems as if a lot of NW cars wind up in Sweden....how does that take place? Like connections, payment, logistics?

Years ago I heard Jim Waldo's Fairlane went over, and Gordon's Chevelle....I think I've heard of others off and on....just wondering how the transaction occurs

The foreign buyers will seek you out if they know your car is for sale. After that it's no different than anything else as those buyers will make all the shipping arrangements. You receive a bank wire transfer into your account for the full amount due, they make arrangements for a transport to pick up the car and deliver it to a port. From there it goes on a shipping container to a destination far, far away. Almost all transportation costs are offset to the buyer when the dollar is low.
FYI- never take a check, bank or otherwise, on an expensive transaction. Cashiers checks and other bank drafts are no forged. Wire transfer, cash or postal money order is the only sure thing. Never deliver until paid in full. Even credit cards used in full or part have an escape or refund clause for the buyer.

Tom Boucher used to run a '66 396 4-speed Chevelle in SS/F many years ago out of Division 1. I remember seeing it at the Epping points race in '85.

Thumbs up Re: Help with Superstock combination

Here is the trailer for "Monsters of Launch" with a slo-mo clip of the Chevelle at the end. I have this video and the two "Four Days in May" videos. They're worth buying and watching.

I found the link on Horsepower Heaven
