Cool Re: Need Help with fastener in ClassicTrailer

Snap-On lists an eight point driver bit that is like a #2 square drive bit. I bought and built a Tuff-Shed for the back yard to put bikes, lawnmowers, the edger and the pool chemicals in, it not only had #2 square headed fasteners, it came with a couple extra square tool bits that fit a 1/8" nut driver.I just bought two of the Snap On bits, the receipt is at work,I'll try and remember to look up the Snap On part number for the eight point bit and post it Monday. Somebody remind me if I forget.

Nope, not a Robertson but agree that it's probably a #2 double square (8 point). I bought a bunch of Torx because they look the same but don't work. At least now I know what to look for.

Again thanks to everyone, I finally went out and braved the 6 deg weather that rolled in last night. It is a #2 square drive bit. On the bit it is an S-2. Here is a picture.

Snap On part number for the tool bit IS-- BTSS2. It's called a Double square #2 bit. I bought a magnetic bit holder for it, as well, 1/4" square drive on one end,1/4" hex on the other, part# TMBS8 A. Hope this helps. Also Torx are numbered-there is no such thing as a metric or an American Torx bit or fastener.
