Happy New Year everybody. Hey Andy's dad congrats on a new v-10, hopefully their will be some at Englishtown or Maple Grove this year. I like the new stuff, but still do enjoy the older cars. I would hope they will get stock and super stock worked out I enjoy the class racers in all classes. Why isnt Dodge using the Challenger in Pro Stock? The avenger....please.

I think the home made old cars cost more than we want to admit, especially for the fast ones. The most glaring omission is labor. The math gets fuzzy fast but even allowing ten bucks an hour adds up fast at the bottom line. I simply do not want to know how much my C/SA car has cost.
What are the comparative maintenance costs between the new cars and the old ones? Chris Barnes Wagons of Steel Stock 6621 |

Go all that way and just race 1 car.....unheard of.....lol
Most guys would have 2 if they could afford it........ and most guys would have a motorhome and stacker if they could afford it.... I like the comment Terry made.....a stacker with a super gasser in....like that's a piece of you know what.......(you need to make a pass in mine Terry) Think about it....if you can build the stuff and buy it ....you can have twice as much....lol I'm on the Jeff Tueton Plan.....I just need more money....lol Rock Haas |

CBS......Never meant it that way....In fact I was thinking about a S/S and a stocker in a stacker when I typed that.....LOL. Im like you and Jeff.....Just wished I had some more money. Have to admit the fastest pass I ever made was in a friends S/C car (rear engined dragster) that ran about 168 MPH but that was about 20 years ago. Id like to make a pass in your SS/DA better. 20 years ago (1991) there weren't to many 168 mph S/C cars.....and that included when they were wide open. Timers were not widely used yet........most people used plate stops or a bolt.........average S/C car went 155 Bracket dragsters were mostly 8 second cars and very few ran much better than 160.... So if you went 168 in 1991 in a dragster that was a pretty fast car for the era

Jeff, I met you and Joe years ago, and you probably wouldn't remember me anyway, and I rightfully probably don't have enough knowledge to say this, but how can a 360 DP or a v-10 DP even qualify as a stocker? I am a damn mopar fanatic and I have more than a few older cars and have a 2009 R/T and my daughter drives a 2010 R/T, but I sure as hell have never seen a 360 or v10 for sale on any dealers lot, and the dealer we buy all are vehicles at said there are no such cars except DP's. I am just starting to get back into this after years of working my tail off so that I can retire early and go racing again. But, don't these DP cars go contrary to the basic principals of a stock race car? I mean we need all the help we can get to beat up on the Fords and Chevvies, but to me it sorta goes against the basic rules of the game.
