Default An idea for Sportsman Spirit

I would like to suggest something that just may get some attention of the Sportsman Class.

You may have already read on NHRA.com that National Dragster wants to do a “Readers Choice” article and they are asking for your ideas. I would love to get them to do something controversial, like the Drag Packs or rehash the Modified demise, but I think we need something we can all side with and that all of us can get behind and be positive about. Many of you can add your own encounters.

I suggest EVERYONE request a story on Chris “Drooze” Wertman; the story of his idea, his banter on here and the fire that took him from us and his family; the story of a father that carried on, and with another driver found the success that he was looking for.

I don’t think there could be a better tribute to an individual’s life that was cut too short. I don’t think there could be a better description of the sportsman spirit.

The deadline for this is February 11. What say you?

Awesome idea and greatly appreciated!

If you agree, send a vote. It would be great to see Chris get some recognition for his accomplishments.

A little inside information for those of you didn't know it, Chris picked the nickname of Drooze, because it was unique and meant absolutely nothing. And the nickname he used when playing online multiplayer games was too crude with multiple meanings, for this site. So, Drooze it was!

This is an unusual and unique suggestion; one without a HINT of a downside. A win-win-win situation. Thanks for giving everyone a way to thank Drooze and his dad (and driver) for everything they have done!

GREAT idea!!!!

Let's hope National DRAGSTER is up to the task!
