Stock and Super Stock Racing is in great shape. The factoring system is working, The rules are right for Stock and Super Stock and the races are fun for all and we are proud to be a part of this sport.
The normal thing of racers trying to get a edge up over the other racers has been going on since the very beginning of Drag racing by the Racers as well as the factory involvement . this is the fun and interesting part of racing also. This Stock and Super Stock classes are always being tweaked as far as the racers, the factories, and NHRA . I know we are having more fun than we ever have since 1963 and look forward to racing more as the fun level should always be a person concern , if not quit racing. Some more comments The reason every single fun sport as well as the professional sports are down is because of the economy and just maybe the sign of the times . Our fun sport will be healthy again , in the mean time race when you can , have more fun in racing when you can and just be happy We all have a sport that we all can race in fun and satisfying way , one comment it you are racing for the money get serious and do something else racing for money is most likely the worst investment around lol , we all have different reason we race so just be happy , I am a little tired of doom and gloom and know this to will pass a as most of us racers are happy with NHRA , IHRA and where the sport is ,now if I could just figure out how to get a advantage over the other racers lol at me

As Don would say:

As screwed as I would be I would rather see it run off national records than become a open to any one bracket race. People need to quite dumming down stock.

And then after a turbo FWD Stocker or Bob Shaw`s Caddy wins the National Championship, the rules would change again because a slow car won.

Personally stock eliminator racing has always been the only eliminator that brought out the best mechanical creativity in organized drag racing for me. It would be a great step forward for any sanctioning body to bring back Pure Stock. Now real street Challengers with Mustangs and maybe even Camaros could be competitive straight from the showroom to the strip, we could start with Divisional races, this would bring in a much needed new blood to our sport. Remember what wins on Sunday sells on Monday .NHRA missed the boat when all those new Fox body Mustangs in the 80's and 90's came into the hands of younger racers who started the 5.o series. just imagine if we could have harvested even a tenth of that participation instead of losing it outright. Don't get me wrong I enjoy Super Stock and Competition eliminator but these are classes design for more money to be spent on. Claude
