I am trying to reassemble my old 'checkmate" camaro after striping it to a shell 8 years ago too fix a bit of wear and tear. The plan is too try and run it in a modified class again. But i will have to say it is tough especially the way technoligy has changed the sport. I hate too say it but I think I have fallen behind the times. I am firm believer in stick cars but I dont think old Liberty modified hemi 4spds and Doug Nash 5spds of whick I have plenty will cut it. I wont even go there on the state of small inch small block chevys. The last time out with the car I had a fairly good small block that decided too drop valves after not even 7 passes when they pulled through the retainers. That incendent cost me a complete engine and parked us. Since then i have had multiple health issues but seem to back on track. So hopefully I will get it done and get back too playing with you guys. Good Luck too all of you in 2012.

Keep em comin guys! Love hearing peoples stories. I just sold my "stocker" to move some money around. I hd planned on building a newer body style this year any how. I cut m teeth on that one an learned a lot. Hopefully I find the perfect shell and business goes well enough I can build a much nicer car in a month or so before our first divisional here.

my racing goals are as follows
1) do better than I did this year, get more consistent on the tree (the .001 red in reynolds drove me nuts). 2) qualify on the top half of the sheet more often than not ( its seems to reduce the chance of having a "hitter" 1st round and usually means a heads up would be in your favor). 3) Win class somewhere, and not be embarrassed in a heads up with a conventional stocker. Made steps to take care of 2 and 3, still gotta work on #1

2012 Goals are simple, win class everywhere we show up. Probably wont get champion of class due to the fact that we always have cars in our class and it will probably go down to rounds won again! I would say just give the class champion to the person who wins the most Wally's; however you might as well give Mr. Dennis the award at the beginning of the season, lol! Great people, works hard on finding fast combos. As for life, thats thinking too far ahead, for me at least. I guess like all racers, winning the big one!

My 2012 racing goals and my 2012 life goals are identical:
I hope to make it through the season with no internal failures and no external leaks. |

My goal is to get back to the gym, and go some rounds at the track. We have been working on our house, sprucing up a bit. Gonna work on Pops stick Vette, try to get him to a few combo races as well.
