Talking Re: Supercar Showdown at Indy?

Im fine with what ever they call it . I think its great that we now have 2 sanctioning bodies running heads up events that feature new factory race cars . Now if IHRA get with it that would be great . Factory car , head's up on Fri and Sat night !!

Why would IHRA get into it? Nobody shows up now.

If they can get the weight breaks right so all three types are competitive they could get over 25 cars wanting in - as long as they all have a chance

If it just shows off blower cars - it will not have as much crowd appeal - they won't care who weighs what as long as there is close heads up racing between all three brands

NA V8s
V10s
PA V8s

Ron, the weight breaks are right.......you just need to go a little deeper into your retirement, and actually tear down that V10. Build it like it's a purpose built drag race engine. Then you'd have your advantage.

Just my opinion, that's all.

Sean - there really aren't any weight breaks right now - NHRA will decide the weight breaks - they will use the AHFS, Class weights and actual performances to try to make the class interesting for us racers and the fans

As you can imagine - I don't have any retirement money to dig into since I am a life long drag racing addict and don’t have any family money - LOL

Not sure you would approve of the changes but we have done what is needed to our car and engine to make it a “purpose built” combination - LMFAO - you just are not up to speed on our efforts

I am really not looking for an advantage just a level playing field in a heads up class

Hope you can make it to INDY with your CJ and join the fun – it will likely be two blower cars in the final

I waited to fill in the above post – I did not want to let Friday night liquid wrench have an impact on my words

Ron, I was just ribbing you. You have your car working good, and it's very fast, congrats. I was merely pointing out the fact that the guys at the front in the ADRL series have gone through their engines from top to bottom. I really wasn't sure (just speculating) that you haven't. My comment about your retirement was based off of your earlier posts about dipping into it, to have your car. Lol

All in good fun, and have fun at Indy in the shoot out. We will be there, just not in that class.
Talk to ya soon, Sean

My personal opinion is the base V8 car should weight 3250 min with the driver, and the other weights be based on that. I don't think a DP or Mustang w/o a blower can get any lighter, I know a DP can't get much lower unless it's remote control, and then set the other weights accordingly. And you gotta have 3 speed in all the cars, not just the Mustangs. My 2 cents

I'm curious to see what Barton will run when this thing shakes out. I assume NHRA is going to keep things quarter mile(hopefully). Can the NA V8's run 9.0's?
