I use 1.589. Pretty close for my car.

I have used the 1.8th x 1.56 for years.

I do know most (but not all) race cars achieved 75% of their total 1/4 mile mph at the 1/8th mile mark.

That site has some interesting calculators to play around with, but the HP ones aren't close for me. It says I make about 100 hp more than I do based on my ET lol.

That's because you have a NHRA Stocker Andrew

Those calculations are based on engine/drivetrain/suspension combos that are not totally maxed out and well tuned like yours.

Generally, the larger the ratio, the better the car et's for it's mph.

Example, if your ratio is 1.5 it does not et as well a ratio of 1.6.

Hello Dwight. Yes Corky was my father. Sorry to say he passed away in March of 2010.

I do still have the Wheel City Fairlane. It is all fresh except for the motor. I was considering running the car some but it seems I need to do some home work. LOL!!
Its good to see a bunch of names on here I remember from the days of racing. I miss this so very much. I hope to be able to race the car some maybe next year.

just thinking out of the box, but you would think aerodynamics would come into play with 1/8 vs 1/4 times. In my mind if you matched up a 1955 chevy with a and new model wind slicing body style, match the cars weigh and engine, I think the wind slicer would be half a fender at the 1/8 and a fender at the 1/4. Aerodynamics should be more of a factor as speed is increased, and should the hurt the "shoebox more than the "wind slicer". Don Jackson
