Default Historic Drag Race cars East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame

October is coming fast and the East Coast Drag Time Hall of Fame Reunion and Car Show is October 18, 19 and 20. If you have never attended this event go to the website and see what you are missing.

If you have an old Stocker or Super Stocker that is historiclly significant, please contact Nancy Wilson, "Miss Zip" at Vance County Tourism in Henderson, NC. I am sure she would like to talk to you about the car and driver. Lew Silvermans wagon drew a big crowd last year and I believe he had a good time at the event. If you would like to contact me and discuss the events of the week-end you can pm me here or at my email address chris3racing@hotmail.com.

Friday October 18 barbeque, car show and social at Satterwhite Point on Kerr Lake. Good spot for photos of your car. Friday night host motels have social set up in the lobby of each motel. Some serious old time bench racing at the motels. Visit each one and have a good time.

Saturday October 19 Classic Drag Race Car and Classic Car Show in Downtown Henderson, NC. Thousands of Classic cars and Classic Original and restored Drag Race Cars. Yes these are no clones, these are the original cars and drivers that make up the history of Drag Racing on the East Coast. Example, the completely restored Mopar Missile Wire Car, with many of the original crew, the last Sox and Martin Duster driven by the late Ronnie Sox. Hubert Platt's original, just as it was pulled out of a barn, FX car, and the cars of the S&S Racing Team Gassers, to name a few.

Sunday, October 20 is the East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame induction ceremonies at Vance Granville Community College Auditorium. This years inductees and many of the inductees from past years. The stories that are told during the induction ceremonies by Mr. Bret Kepner, MC and the inductees are priceless. This part of the week-end kind of brings a lump to your throat for old racers like me, because many drag racing friends and past inductees have past on and some can not return due to failing health. Oh and there are some cars on display at the Hall of Fame ceremonies on Sunday also.
