I messed around with shift points a bit last year and didn't notice any difference in consistency, but I did pick up some MPH shortening the shift from .65 to .30 (first timer is at .15). This was on my S/G TBird which is pretty light at 2465 w/driver and a 600" motor.

I think weight and HP makes a big difference in how early you can get away with shifting

I'm a slow guy so TS .02 shift at 1.40 cruising at a high 4,600 10.90 at 126.50
