MJ why cry? welfare was accepted You got your bumper ...EBT card and used it
I wouldn’t complain either if the welfare was available to me
But I already have a soft combo 255 /280 hp.
I will bolt on my tow rope and try and drag any welfare recipients to the HP office
For review but the government shutdown will save you all Merry Xmas

Once the AHFS has determined that a combination's performance warrants a HP increase, how is it that the same AHFS can give that same combination a HP reduction in the future? Was it wrong in the first place? It's a contradiction to say the least.

I don't understand how a combo that came out of the factory with under rated HP, but then gets 40 HP off the under rated HP. Can someone explain how that happens? Also, when the HP comes off, then it becomes a killer car in the new class it drops into and NHRA does nothing to correct the class.

Remember that the 283 is not running quicker just because of a horsepower change. NHRA finally allowed the three speed which should have been legal all along.

The Turbo 350 was available from the factory after 1964 and found it's way into a lot of combinations. The factory didn't release all information to NHRA and there are some things that NHRA just accepted.
Can a six cylinder chevy 2 use a four speed stick?

I raced a 283 for a few seasons in a wagon similar to Captain Jack. I know either in the late 50 s or early 60 s Chevy had a turboglide but I am not sure it came behind a 283. Every 283 I have seen had a PG behind it ...maybe Billy Nees or Mark Yac can chime in....When Steve Tarrance was kicking Azz with his 6 cylinder Chevy 11 he was running a 4 speed...
