They usually do wait to enter.

The story of Dan Fletcher forgetting to enter a race one time makes me very sympathetic towards the champions that register "early".

I'm confused, is there a problem with this?
To race U.S. Nats you have earn it in my opinion,I have no sympathy for racers with one or two grade points not getting in, if you had problems to earn the grade points it's just though luck, we all have that one time or another.
I am more surprised that it dosen't take 6 to 7 to get in!
maybe next year you 2 graders will get in with no problem

Not long ago it did take 5 grading points to get in and even then you had to be at your computer when the clock struck noon(For Me at least) and before that you had to mail in your entry and wait for the letter back. Lately though since the economy took a dip not as many racers can take the 10 days off needed to go to Indy, and Honestly Indy isn't what it used to be.

It's not the two grading point, which for many of use represents a couple thousand dollars in fuel, entry, food, lost wages etc. It's that NHRA reduced the number of Entries to allow TD and TS. Last year it was the Mountain motor Pro Stocks.Face it the first ones to get pissed on Is Stock, Super Stock, SC and SG. which I would argue are NHRA's most Loyal racers. But we don't have Superchargers or Nitro and we don't make big noises.

Well, sure. However, if NHRA was to be consistent in the way they administered quotas they would have left stock superstock alone and reduced the number in SC and SG for this year. They could have made room for the new classes easily and not impacted the class cars.

I would not be surprised at all if they adjusted it after a week at 1 for the super cars.

I seem to remember a time that the racers had to at least stage their car and break the beams once to have their entry count. When did that go away ?

Please do not sit at your computer and tell people what they should do. You have no idea what other people are doing in their lives...responsibilities, obligations or their finances...But it does seem easier to sit at a computer and give your opinion.. Gary Parker... my real name. So I really do not care what you think we should do

You have to enter a points meet, fill out the tech card and have the car pass tech to get a grade point. Don't have to participate, just pass tech.
