David:
It is my understanding that: Joe Santangelo, Jr won the race, r/u was Bob Lundholm. The shootout was called due to cold and unsafe conditions. the four semi-finalists divided up the money. Justin Pucillo, TJ Boucher, DJ Pires?, ? I left after the second round. hope the professor is well? Dean |

Dean your info is correct. Joe had to reach the final to take the championship from D.J. Pires, it was a battle right to the end. What a way to cap off an outstanding year to say the least. 3 ASRA wins, 1 IHRA Nat. win, the E-town LODRS event and the ASRA Championship in his first year of ASRA competition.
Congats Joe II and Joe Sr.! Overall the race was good, we had the biggest ASRA field ever at New England Dragway with 61 cars. The air was anywhere from -300' to + 300' at it's worst. I saw many cars run 1.+ under. During the shootout things got a bit hairy as the track cooled off and the temps dropped into the mid 40's. So after a few out of control runs the track managent said thats it! Just as well we don't need anybody getting hurt to win a few bucks. I know during the first round of the shootout I was behind the water box and I saw the side of Broadbents car at about 600'. But as usual Bob just left his foot in it and won the round. Well we managed to get all the races in and the '07 season completed. The ASRA B.O.D. would like to thank all of our members and the non members who comeout and support our races. George Mirza |

GEORGE:
you are correct. That's one HELL of a performance by "lil" Joey Santangelo and the Santangelo Team! Congrats on one great season. I believe that I can remember being "spanked" at least once or twice by Joe myself! It was nice to see such a great turnout of cars and friends. |

Congrats to the Santangelos-it was good to get to meet you guys this year and you have had a hell of a good year. I'm glad no one got hurt when the track got cold. I just hope the Sox can come back tonight-not looking good right now.

Congrats to Joe(win) and Bob(r/u), there was some great racing that day.
61 cars WOW that is 10 more than our average at NED. It is great to have a good weather forecast and some great racing. Thanks to all for your support for the ASRA series"Rain or Shine" lots of rescheduling, but our 2007 season is complete. Joe Santangelo is our 2007 points champion, congrats Joe. We are talking with the Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference Center in Sturbridge,Massachusetts about our annual banquet. Nothing is signed yet, but it looks good for Saturday Feb 2nd. There will be a block of rooms for Friday and saturday nights. More details to come.We have had many banquets at Sturbridge and it has been completely renovated in the last year.

Yes. Congrats to Joe...it seemed every time I looked this summer, he was winning something. And to the shootout contestants as well. Also, thanks to Dave Casey for keeping us so well informed about ASRA events...I couldn't get to New England this weekend, so I appreciate being kept informed. Nice job...and to all who have helped ASRA thrive for what is it...over 20 years???

Congratulations Joe on being our 2007 ASRA Champion, it was well deserved. To say you had a good year would be an under statement. You and your Dad were definitely a force to be recon with across all the events this year???Good Driving
