The AHFS is very confusing to everyone , however….it NEVER comes into play at National Opens …

I can't give much updates as I was focused on our goal to set a record in FS/I with my Cobra-Jet Mustang. My goal this weekend was to set a National Record.

I was disappointed that we weren't able to make a test hit on Friday due to the rain.
The Minimum in FS/I was a 11.15 and the index is a 11.65. My car is a natural FS/H car. I have been running the car heavy in FS/H form so I had to add about 50 pounds to run FS/I.

I did test at NMRA Bowling Green 2 weeks ago with the setup that I wanted to run at Indy for the record. At Indy my first pass was a 10.34 at 127. I think the wind had a lot of effect since I was faster in Bowling Green in about 2000 feet of additional DA.
We went up on the launch RPM and took a degree of timing out. I also ran the left lane hoping it would reduce the effect of the wind from the west.

On the next pass it ran the 10.27@130 with more weight at the scales.
Since Jimmy Ronzello could not be there for the teardown I had the help of my good friend Mark Kirkman. Mark has a Ford Hemi Powered A/DA.
We took a little longer getting the cylinder head off the car than the other 2 pushrod cars in the barn with us. Haha

The NHRA tech team was very professional and thorough in their inspection of the car. It was my first time to NHRA teardown and I learned a lot. I have been torn down many times at NMRA over the years.

At the end we were declared legal. As I had planned we would load the car and not put it back together for eliminations on Sunday.
I plan to look at the engine with Mr. Ronzelllo before a little dyno work after a freshen up.
I need to thank Mark Kirkman for the help getting the car torn down. I typically race solo and could not have gotten done as quickly without his assistance. Also Jimmy Ronzello with all the assistance in the Coyote engine program.

Also in the barn for national records were two other Stockers, Matt Antrobius, and my 18-year-old son Rodney Kaekel. There was one Super Stocker, Fred Allen's truck. A real thrill for my son. Congrats to all. A big thank you to all that helped including Jake Howard, and Randy Taylor that helped save my back by helping me lifting that iron BB Chevy head off Rodney's block!

So, does anybody have a link to round-by-round results for this race ?

Or, is this info not available ?

At the very least, would someone please at least post winner & RU in Stk & SS.

Thanks !
