Maybe things have changed since then, but about 20 years ago, I was able to set the National record at a National Open, for both the 1/8th and 1/4 mile, using the same pass. But at a Divisional race, was only able to set the 1/4 mile numbers. But lately it seems the Nat`l Opens don`t always have the NHRA Certification crew and equipment on site.
