I would tend to agree.
This proves that you don't need to buy a big block bullet from a well known builder for a 10 second car, to go racing in Stock with NHRA.

Longroofs rule cool!
Fix the passenger side headlight and it will be faster. Last edited by Charlie A; 03-26-2019 at 08:03 PM. |

Looks like he needed the high beam switch to get anything at all ;-)

Re: My 88 Olds wagone U/SA 10 Pennies
I did only have 1 headlight hooked up. Reason being 1 battery, large alternator pulley and a loose belt. Tried saving electric but still had a dead battery. Working on second battery as I need weight anyway.

Re: My 88 Olds wagone U/SA 10 Pennies
Some updates.Found a good transmission pan for $80 from Intergity. Bought a recon battery, cables and master switch for $120 total. Found 150lb. of weight at local auction for $19.00 New total of $8422.00
I will be going out to test Friday night. I think with 3 or 4 passes I can be 14.50. @ 4330lb. Thats 25lb over minimum. I will post Saturday the results. |

Re: My 88 Olds wagone U/SA 10 Pennies
Some more tuning last night and I reached my goal of 14.50. Jetting and shift points are what I worked on. I final have been way to lean and way to rich. Still shifting 1-2 late but 2-3 at 6400 looks pretty good. I have saved the run on the play back tach and will see if I can record on phone and transfer to here and see what you guys think. One thing is the motor does not like synthetic oil. I swapped out the plain old 10/40 for some synthetic 10/30 and it smoked all the way down the track. Not bad but I can see the small cloud in my mirror. Moved weight from behind rearend to just in front in hopes to get car to drive forward more but it didn't show anything in 60ft. Air was at 2700 and ran .2 quicker then 2 weeks ago when air was at 2200. The gains were pretty good, but still need .5 to reach my end goal

I assume your running radials, how much air are you running?.You should be able to go pretty high on that car and maybe pick up a few ticks. gsa612
