I think .700 -.750 would be plenty of lift,

Think .700 would be better...in terms of keeping costs down...LESS spring required...
and a few bucks saved there. Maybe LESS parts needed...to keep the geometry
correct?

Would .050" lift matter that much anyway...in terms of performance?

One thing that we should try to remember is we're not trying to "push" the envelope
here...we're trying to get MORE "players" on the field.....

At least that's the way I read what's been suggested...

Keep in mind the current economy....let's "bring em out" guys!

.700 seems like a good, stable, performance oriented number. And would make valve spring up keep simpler. The guys at inside comp are proposing a similar class, but wanting to allow ANY mod to certain heads. I believe that brings us back to square one. I know for a fact you can wrap up $10,000 in a quality iron head, so that's my point.

Oh I will stay the course. If I wanted to run a comp any mod cylinder head class. I'd already be doing it. If they go any mods to the heads, they can count me, and several others out. Never in history have we had the opportunity to showcase all 3 big auto manufacturers as we can with the Brodix spec head. And with today's technology, we can spot minute changes that would make the head illegal. Talk about a true level playing field, this is it.

That friends will be the basis of a fun cheap class for all makes to compete with a level field. Brodix Basic Heads. Next issue is Pistons, and I like flat top with spec deck ht. Is there a cc for the chambers Randy? or ?Anything goes with Angle mill?

We never specified CC. We could only get in the high 50 range, and you'd have to cheat, and weld them up to gain an advantage. That, my friends, would be caught immediately by Brodix on inspection. We did everything we could to keep tear down easy. The threat, and availability of a Brodix inspection kept them under control.

I see the responses on Inside Comp racing, but not much here in the Mod and comp section.
Maybe the COLD weather has everyone concentrating on survival instead of dreaming about how nice the summer will be and how soon it will arrive.... and getting their stuff freshened or modified.

Dick. Here's what I see happening, and not happening in the future. What's nort happening, is Econo Mod getting drafted into Comp. What will happen in the next two years is one, or several sanctioning bodies will give it a shot. The reason I feel that way is because several Comp, and Super Stock guys think it's the path to take for a lot of new interest. Just hope I ain't in the nursing home before it gets going. I do believe first it will start at a local track. Then? Well, we'll see.
