Wink Re: LIVE from the Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals!

Like the first one 13 years ago,,, this race was unforgettable. The cars were amazing, the racing was top notch, and yeah,, there were some gaps in the action,, but overall things went very smooth. The temps were a little cool at times, but that's something we all put up with. The thing that really made this race was the PEOPLE, whether they were staff,, other fans,, racers or venders, it was amazing to meet some of the "names" I've corresponded with on this forum over the years, and to see again those who I'd previously met. Thank you to those that came up to me and introduced yourselves, it was much appreciated by me and my 2 buddies.
I know I'm forgetting someone,, but in no particular order,, the hands I shook and faces I greeted again are:
Don Dimeler and Myron Piatek (also staying at our hotel)
Mike Bassin (an honor to meet you, sir and to give you a break on the mic)
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Seabrook
Dave Turner
Stephen Johnson( you're taking great care of an 'ol NW legend)
Mr. Sayre (and his beautiful black COPO)
Ed Carpenter( love your Chevy II, actually, I love all '66s)
Joe Schaechter
Dan Fahey
Larry and Patsy Hill (good to see you again, hope you enjoy the pics)
Chris Hill
Rob,, of Rob's Need For Speed videos.
Lynn Norton (racing historian)
The gentleman with the 6 cyl Chevelle wagon ( also at our hotel)
Mike and Janice Fuller (thanks for picking up my lost cell phone)
Doug Jonak and wife ( proof that strange coincidences DO happen)
Nitro Joe ( you were very busy, but still took a moment to shake our hands)
Bill "Redman" Floyd (thanks for taking our photo again, 13 years later)
Michael Beard ( what can I say, without you, none of us would've been there, did I thank you enough?)
We're all hoping theres another one,,, time will tell.
Once again, from my friends and me, thank you for all the hospitality.
Danny Durham

Just wanted to add our sincere thanks to Michael and his entire team for the most enjoyable meet I have attended in years. We know it was a huge undertaking and hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. Bravo!

As always, enjoyed the people - both old and new. Seeing Jim and Connie, Randall Campbell and other friends from the past was great. Also had a chance to meet some very interesting new friends - Billy Nees (the one and only) and the delightful Thibert ("T-Bear") family (K/SA), Danny Durham and his friends from Out West to name just a few.

Great racing across the board. Loved the CIC format for Quick 32 plus the Junior Stock format. Party food was great. Can't really offer any improvement suggestions. Only need to know how soon can we book the 2015 weekend?

Cheers

remember www.1320go.com covered the race, so if your a member of 1320go.com you can go look at the numbers in there history part of the site from the race and as I'm doing this week if you want to watch any day of all the action you can go to http://new.livestream.com/MotorManiaTV and hit the Northern Class Nationals link and watch all the action.

BTW, I'm still worn out, lol

Joe,
Might be a bit warmer viewing the excellent coverage at home, can't beat being there!
Thanks to friends Johnny and Mr D. I was able to relax with them at Hotel Diekema while you walked the lanes.

Thumbs up Re: LIVE from the Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals!

This was the most fun I've had, despite not winning anything, in a long time! Met old friends I haven't seen in a while, made new friends from classracer.com as well as other forums and I just want to do it again!

Thank you Michael, Anthony, sponsors and everyone else involved in making this a memorable weekend.......and especially Alex Denysenko, who's vision and selfless hard work to have the original U.S. Class Nationals in 2001 provided the incentive for this one and hopefully more.

WOW I am impressed by the feedback and fun we all had.

Mike Beard and your crew thank you for letting my company to sponsor the Pure Stock Challenge It was a blast and think we made a good impression.
Got to know the Tech Officials real well and promise never to make a faux-paux about fuel checks again .

DanSources is a IT Consulting and Technical Staffing company and not the mainstream auto service or manufacturing that normally sponsors these events.
Hope this sets a trend to bring in more non-standard sponsors to support our sport..

I met so many people, made a lot of new friends, took a lot of pictures, saw a tom of amazing racing. Wish I had a notebook to log all their names.
At least we have ClassRacer to help remind this old brain.

Going to be working with Lloyd Riley, who Sponsored the Highest Qualified Pure Stocker, and collaborate on how to make Pure Stock better.
See if we can double the count next year.

That weekend I got a lot of exercise pulling the tires off an on the car over the weekend. My daily working out paid off. Saturday the wind pounded my Canopy. Sunday totally wrecked it. Getting parts for it was going to be a pain so I trashed it and ordered a new one.

FWIW the drive home was beautiful . Wonderful vistas and going through historical towns made it fun. Though at times construction clogged up a uneventful 7 plus hour trip back home.

As I got closer to Frederick the "desperate driving nut cases" made making the last 50 miles a pain. Some people are just insane tailgating at 70mph trying to go faster than the traffic will allow.

I want to thank all my new Pure Stocker friends for showing up.
After taking all the grief from some racers over the last year.
Think we did good !!

Just wanted to add another "thank you" - to Skip Lee (HammerHead) for sponsoring the Junior Stock portion of the Friday show. For those of you who haven't met Skip, he is a avid fan and racer and has an excellent product for those who have "rear end" problems. He has some prototype pieces that look bulletproof.

Maybe send him an "atta boy" for his efforts (and hope he does it next year). His email is www.hammerheadhousing.com

Thx

Is it just me or do other people look at this beautiful Camaro and think how the cool'o'meter would be totally pegged with a switch to a Grumpy Lump scoop?

I'd like to add my congrats to Micheal and his team, the participants, and the winners of the Northern Class Nationals. While I couldn't attend, I was glued to my computer for most of the weekend, and enjoyed the on-line coverage immensely. Hopefully it becomes an annual event, and I can be there for the next one.
