The car dealers that get a hold of these things will probably put 20-30k price on top of the MSRP.

It would be cheaper in the long run to "build" one of these cars vs. taking one of the real ones and converting it. |

I don't know about collectors only. I'd be willing to bet if you had somebody like John Calvert call Ford, he would get one at cost. Maybe even less. I think a name and reputation will go a long way. Whether or not somebody like John would spend the money or not is another story. But I do suspect he's sold enough traction devices to afford one if he wants!

Did anyone notice that it said these things were NHRA legal to 10 second ET.s ? I heard they were going to come with 6 point roll bars and the necessary safety stuff. You may have to put a good trans in it but the safety stuff is supposed to be there. How cool is that.

Mopar will build 100 Challengers, and I think they will be sold direct to racers. These are race cars, not storage vehicles. 3 power options More as it rolls out.

Jeff, Is one going to you? When I think of Mopar guys, your name comes up first. What will your dealership sell a regular Challenger for? I have heard about $20K markups around here. Man. I love that body style! Thanks. Jeff Goss SS/MA 6990 |

We plan on three Challengers. One each for my sons and one for Lil Joe. They will be race cars. We got seven of the production SRT 2008 Challengers. They are all sold. We sold them for window sticker. We refused some offers from brokers & stuff. We already have 2009 Challengers schduled. Some 6.1, some 5.7, manual, auto, asssorted colors. The unknown is if the 392 CID, 600 hp street legal motor will be used in any of them. As far as that 10K to 20K over sticker, in a small town that cost you more in the long run. One of the new Challengeres we are selling is going to a customer who is bringing it to Comp Cams for a complete redo which will be in several magazines. That customer has a black one coming, his dad has a black 300 SRT, and his brother has a black Charger SRT. Should make a nice package.
