Our thoughts and condolences go out to Kathy and family. I always enjoyed talking with Jim at the track... He was so knowledgeable and a very tough racer. He had a heck of a season in 2003, pulling off the Sportsman Trifecta, winning a National, a Divisional, and an Open on the way to finishing 4th in the world. You never wanted to see Jim on your side of the ladder when they posted it second round because you knew if you made it that far that you were going to have your hands full. That being said, we still missed seeing him and Kathy at the track over the past couple of years.

Rest in peace, my friend.

The Sawyer Family

This is so sad, I didn't know Jim well but did spend time with him on several occasions including the PRI show, what a loss. God speed Jim, RIP.

Jim was one cool cat. I will never forget some of the hilarious times my brothers and I had with him. He could sure make you laugh. Very nice obituary in the local paper here today. Had a awesome picture of Jim from one of his winners circles and mentions some of his racing accomplishments.
