Why do racers put themselves in these situations and force NHRA to make tough/unpopular decisions?
If racers just follow the rules and normal procedures they have done for years, then they wouldn't find themselves in these situations. If he did infact drain the radiator, this is not the "normal" procedures and it was done to avoid HP. This is going to force NHRA to come up with another rule and/or make an unpopular decision. But who forced NHRA to do this????? |

Jack,
obviously, one isn't allowed to alter the weight of the vehicle - either way - prior to scaling. I'm simply stating that the rulebook doesn't call out that point. I know how to put a seatbelt on, too, but the airline still tells me every time... Two good points were then made. Pare is right, we need a rulebook that stipulates every possible situation, because if someone thinks they can get over on the system, they'll try. And Herb is right, that's why NHRA will eventually tire of our bull**** and just run .90 and Top whatever... |

Rule would be nice but supervision better. I ran class once at the US nationals and my competetor ran without water in his radiator to save HP of fan/Pump. He just acted suprised as he walked to the faucet with the water jug he just happened to have in the car on the run. Result he won class with his fastest run of class.
