Just thought of another one. A 71 Comet with a 429 loaded. A shame they only made the Comets with 2 bbl carb only .

Too bad the guys on this thread didn't work for the manufacturers.
Man, you guys could have put out some "BAD" machines. WJ, Seems you're partial to the 64' models. Nobody mentioned a 65' Buick Gran Sport, equipped with the Buick Riviera 425/360HP dual-quad. A 'Granny Grocery-Getter'. That 68' Vette with a 302 dual-quad/cross-ram. A nice combo. Paul |

1965 442 with the 425 Toronado "Ultra High Compression" 370 HP engine with W-30 upgrade. Call it 385 HP.
1970-1971 Maverick / Comet with 302W 4bbl instead of 2bbl. Maybe even the Shelby GT-350 351W engine or Boss 302 in the 1970 model. How about a Boss 351 in the '71 models? '69 AMX with Superstock cross-ram 390 engine. 1970 also since AMC wanted (and tried) to get away with it. '71 - '74 Gremlin and Hornet 401. Mopar 6-packs in anything they fit in in the years offered. Same with the Z-28 302's & even LT-1, any model for years offered. If it fit under the hood, it was good! Boss 429 F-100 in 1969-1970.

I just thought of another one that would have added some punch to the 74 line up...74 Nova with the Corvette 454 (yea I know it was a turd but in 74....thing would have been bad!)

Would somebody please correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember reading years ago about a run of 1964 Malibu SS hardtops (200 cars?) with 409/340 engines and all were Powerglides.

Or the 1966 Pontiac GTO, since the 421 was still being installed in the larger vehicles, a nice retro-version of the 63' HO 421/405HP dual-carbed 12.0-1 compression engine in the 66' GTO. Paul |
